Build trust by sharing the foundation’s story
This Foundation, as a Non Profitable Organisation was inaugurated on 1st June, 2024 in memories of Our Daughter, Sister, Friend, OKEOGHENE WETAN, who was murdered cold blooded in Lagos in her family house in the early hours of 1st September, 2023 of which the painful murder is still a deep wound that can never be healed in our hearts, moreso, as up till date, the State didn't do anything to seek justices for her death because she was fatherless and nobody to fight for justices for her.
Oke Wetan, an Alumni of COVENANT UNIVERSITY, lived a very good life. She was a very amiable lady, quiet , loveable, kind, hospitable and beautiful lady throughout the 30 years of her life on this earth. Those people killed her at the peak of her youth cutting short of all her dreams and aspirations . However, the family and friends of Oke decided to form OKEWETAN CHARITY FOUNDATION TO HONOUR HER AND IN A WAY TO TURN OUR MOURNING AND PAINS INTO A MINISTRY, TO REACH OUT / SUPPORT ORPHANAGES AND THE FATHERLESS YOUNG ADULTS AND THE WIDOWS GLOBALLY.

Mission Statement
The Okewetan Charity Foundation is a non-profit organization founded on June 1st, 2024, in loving memory of our daughter, sister, and friend, Okeoghene Wetan—a radiant soul whose life was tragically cut short on September 1st, 2023, by some Murderers who went into her family home and strangled her to death in Lagos. Her untimely death remains a deep wound in our hearts, made even more painful by the absence of justice. As a fatherless young woman, her voice was unheard, and her story ignored. In fact, Nigeria happened to her. Oke, an alumna of Covenant University, lived a life marked by kindness, grace, and quiet strength. She was amiable, lovable, hospitable, and beautiful—inside and out. Her dreams were vast, her heart generous, and her presence unforgettable. In honor of her legacy, we established the Okewetan Charity Foundation to transform our mourning into ministry. Our mission is to support orphanages, fatherless young adults, and widows across the globe, just as Oke would have done with joy and compassion.

The Story:
A Promise of Dignity
"In late 2025, our team visited a local orphanage in Abuja that we have long supported. We went expecting to share food and some joy, but we left in tears. When we were shown the children’s living quarters and the sanitary facilities, the condition was beyond deplorable—the toilets were broken, unsanitary, and a direct threat to the health of every child in that building. I remember looking at the faces of these children and realizing that while we were always providing food all these while, they were living in an environment that stripped them of their basic dignity. In that moment of heartbreak, I made a promise to the owner and the children: We will fix this. Since that day, I have had sleepless nights because that promise remains unfulfilled due to a lack of resources. Every 'hunger call' I receive from a widow, a call for rents or shop evictions, unpaid school fees, critical health issues that needs my attention, or an update from that orphanage reminds me that time is running out. This grant is not just a financial request; it is the key to fulfilling a promise and ensuring that 'OWF Vision 2026' starts with a foundation of health, safety, and human dignity for the most vulnerable among us."
THE "OWF VISION 2026 FOOD BANK"
Okewetan Charity Foundation is moving from temporary Outreaches to Permanent Impacts. We are building the Vision 2026 Food Bank & Vocational Center on our 200x200m site in Delta and another Plot of land site in Abuja. We have supported 300+ Widows so far—Now we’re building a home for that Mission. Would you like to be a 'Foundation Partner' with a seed gift today? Every Naira builds a Wall. 🙏❤️" Secondly, We are reaching out because you value Impacts. OWF is officially breaking ground on Vision 2026. We have the Land and the CAC registration; now we are raising the first phase of funds for the Food Bank infrastructures. We are transitioning from Founder-Funding to Community-building. Can I send you our Project Fact Sheet to see how you can help us reach the next 300 Widows?" Thirdly, 4 plots of land. 300+ Widows already supported.. OWF Vision 2026 is officially live!‼️ We are building a permanent Food Bank and Skill Development Center. Who is joining us to leave a Legacy for the Fatherless Young Adults? > OWF Vision 2026 #Empowerment > Joyful Moments > Community Supports > Food Bank, No more hunger

Strategic Initiative: Vision 2026 Roadmap
Building Sustainable Empowerment in Nigeria
The Okewetan Charity Foundation (OWF) is transitioning from immediate Humanitarian Relief to Long-Term Structural Empowerment. Our Vision 2026 Roadmap focuses on two critical pillars designed to break the cycle of poverty for Widows, Orphans, and Vulnerable Young Adults in Abuja and Delta State.
- The Vision 2026 Food Bank:
We are establishing a Permanent, Solar-Powered Food Distribution Hub to provide consistent Nutritional Security to 500+ households. By moving beyond Seasonal Outreaches to a Structured Registry System, we ensure that no family in our Community faces hunger. - Vocational Training & Short-Term Accommodation Centers:
Construction is underway for two flagship Empowerment Centers. Our Delta State site, situated on a secured 200x200 ft (4-plot) parcel of land, will serve as a Regional Hub for Skill Acquisition in Agri-Analytics, ICT, and Vocational Trades. These centers will provide:.
- Safe Housing: Short-term accommodation for those in transition.
- Professional Certification: Training Programs designed to create immediate employability.
- Economic Independence: Transforming Vulnerable Individuals into Self-reliant Contributors.
- Partner With Us: We are currently inviting strategic Corporate partners and International Donor Agencies to join us in this foundational phase.
